New Reason to Live

He walks through the dark street

With feelings trembling his heart

The moonlight lights his way down

Unnoticeable he keeps on crying

He feels like the world has crushed

Above his so heavy head

Seeing no future and sad

He feels like committing suicide

But, then, the sun comes up 

In the middle of his darkest night

A dim candlelight catches his eyes

And he feels thrilled by the surprise

He gets close to the hazed window 

And sees a lonely girl watching the moon

Suddenly, the girl looks down

Their eyes meet, he feels no longer doomed

The girls dazzling eyes give him new reason

For living in the world so cruel

The night is no longer dark for him

Because he found daylight in his new love

Do you know how it feels to be dead while still alive?
To fall asleep each night? 

To the sound of your own cries?
To have your life change in the blink of an eye?
To discover your reality was nothing but lies?

The other day you asked me

“Why do you love me?”

to which I replied “Because I do.”

that was not entirely true

you see, there are many reasons

too many to name them all

so I’ll just list a few

your hair

your eyes

how you’re mine

your voice

your laugh

how you smile

when you talk like you know it all

how I know you’ll catch me if I fall

your lips

your touch

the warmth it brings

your smell

your strength

just about everything

It may seem crazy to you

cause you don’t seem to get why I do

Winter's Daydream

She walked with grace, through dreams awake

Through the silently falling snow

She laughed as she spun, her breath rising in icy plumes

Small glistening crystals adorned her hair

Her thoughts lost i a wistful imagining

A delicious wandering of the mind

A floating free of the boundaries of convention

She turned to look back upon the path she tread

There were no footsteps to be found

Not sure from which direction she had traveled

Nor where a new path might lead

She felt no fear in being lost

Sometimes we need to lose ourselves, in order to be found

In this beautiful wintry landscape wandering

The only question that weighed on her mind

How many daydreams had she lost

In this stark reality of this life ?

I shivered and deplored in the bitter night

As the gloomy shadows engulf their prey

I implore the darkness for a flicker of the sun

Would it melt the clouds and clear the sky ?

Or would the lurid darkness finally have won ?
